This is my conceptual take on a concept about conceptual Death Chests. I mean, sure you could just gamerule keepinventory if you are at it with commandblocks and stuff but... this has more style... FANCYNESS! Stuff... exciting! If you want to copy the whole construct into your world, be sure to have all Scoreboards you need activated.
