This is how you make a lava trap. You add that part to your canals network to make a mob farming machine!
Sometimes chickens gets trough without burning. If you block them you will get tons of eggs (along with a massive chicken congestion). If you don't want chickens, put 2 cactus on the side of the collector. When 2 chickens gets in the tunnel, they will bump each other into cactus.
