Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game developed and published by Telltale Games, based on Mojang Studios' sandbox video game Minecraft. Mojang assisted with the development of the game. The first five episodes were released between October 2015 through March 2016, and an additional three episodes were released as downloadable content in mid-2016. A second season consisting of five episodes was released from July through December 2017.
The game follows the same episodic format as other Telltale Games titles, such as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones. The story revolves around a player-created character named Jesse, originally an everyman, who later becomes a hero together with their friends. Kronika and Fire God Liu Kang fight one final time to determine the fate of the New Era.
Following Kronikas defeat, Fire God Liu Kang and Raiden attempt to utilize Kronikas Hourglass to restore history, but are interrupted by Shang Tsung, Fujin, and Nightwolf, who were all imprisoned in a timeless void by Kronika for refusing to join her. Shang Tsung elaborates that, due to the destruction of the Crown of Souls when Liu Kang defeated Kronika, the Hourglass cannot be used to change history without destroying it. He convinces Liu Kang to send him, Fujin, and Nightwolf back in time to retrieve the Crown of Souls before Cetrion does. Despite Raidens suspicions of Shang Tsung, Liu Kang agrees and sends the trio back, staying behind to protect the Hourglass.

During a visit to the Glove World theme park, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter Madame Kassandra, a mermaid fortune teller who sells them a bottle of magic bubble soap that can make their dreams come true. After purchasing the soap and returning home, SpongeBob blows bubbles to make his friends dreams come true. Patrick then reads the bottles label to find that it is actually a bottle of Mermaid Tears and is the property of King Neptune, not to be used by mortals. SpongeBobs bubbles then cause mayhem as it opens a portal and sucks up buildings and his friends into several Wish Worlds while covering Bikini Bottom in a substance called Cosmic Jelly, the building blocks of reality.
