Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game developed and published by Telltale Games, based on Mojang Studios' sandbox video game Minecraft. Mojang assisted with the development of the game. During a visit to the Glove World theme park, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter Madame Kassandra, a mermaid fortune teller who sells them a bottle of magic bubble soap that can make their dreams come true. After purchasing the soap and returning home, #spongebob blows bubbles to make his friends dreams come true. Patrick then reads the bottles label to find that it is actually a bottle of Mermaid Tears and is the property of King Neptune, not to be used by mortals. SpongeBobs bubbles then cause mayhem as it opens a portal and sucks up buildings and his friends into several Wish Worlds while covering Bikini Bottom in a substance called Cosmic Jelly, the building blocks of reality.

The humans, led by Wizard King Cartman, make their home in the Kingdom of Kupa Keep, a makeshift camp built in Cartmans backyard; among their number are paladin Butters, thief Craig, Clyde, cleric Token, Tweek, and Kenny—a young boy who dresses as a princess. The humans rivals are the drow elves, who live in the elven kingdom in the backyard of their leader, High Jew Elf Kyle; they also include the warrior Stan and Jimmy the bard.
The boys conduct their game throughout the town, the surrounding forest, and even into Canada (represented as a pixelated overhead 16-bit RPG). Locations from the show, including South Park Elementary, South Park Mall, the Bijou Cinema, City Wok restaurant, and Tweek Bros. Coffeehouse, are featured in the game.

Meanwhile, Kotal Kahn, the current emperor of Outworld, attempts to execute Shao Kahns loyalist Kollector, but is interrupted by a time storm that brings Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Baraka, and younger versions of Kano, Erron Black, Jade, Raiden, Kitana, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Scorpion, Kabal, and Kung Lao from the past and erases Dark Raiden from existence.
