I'm pretty happy with both the 2-wide tileable design and the non-tileable one so I don't think I'm going to build another one :P.

*A little clarification since it was argued about it being the smallest: This design is currently the smallest design that can deal with empty boxes, sorts out the empty one at the end and its completely automatic. Volume: 35 blocks (7x5x1).
*Another thing I want to underline: the armor stand sits on top of an IRON pressure plate since it will give a signal strenght lower than 15 (if the comparator is reading a 15 ss it will never be able to detect when a shulker is completely empty).
I had this design sitting around for about 2 weeks and Ive finally decided to publish it since its really cool and very compact.

As you might already guessed it this design is 1-wide tileable using that armorstand trick (it was shown to me by Raffq), if you like a more lag-friendly alternative here a non-infinitely tileable design: https://imgur.com/a/rTVGw0y
