I've been wondering how hard it would be to make a mod that allowed me to select the block type of a flatland world. Previously you'd have to generate a world with MCEdit if you wanted a flatland world out of sandstone or any other block.
So I started looking around and got my hands on the source code, wrote a little mod and now you can do exactly the same as with MCEdit, but it is so much faster and easier :)
How to use:
1) Put the generation type on "Superflat"
2) In the seed you can leave any Block ID you want, a list can be found here: bit.ly/MCBlockIDs
3) Hit the generate button and you're good to go.
Note: Leaving the seed blank or entering a non supported seed (one that isn't a supported Block ID), it'll generate the classic superflat map :)
