This is a spin-off of my auto-departure minecart system.
Some extra notes: paintings will pop off of walls if any of their supporting walls are removed. Luckily for us, the sides of signs and wooden pressure plates are considered whole blocks and can support a painting.
Also, it is important to place the initial input to the system far enough away that victims will not hear the noise from the dispensers and plates setting up. I recommend using a track system like me for remote traps, or setting up a little garden and gate with a button or something. Just make sure the input looks like it does something useful so they won't suspect it.
