I'm making an historical castle in Minecraft - in hardcore mode. It's time to gather resources and start building. It will take time to make a stone castle and we have to be secure - so I'm making a wooden castle to protect everyone in the meantime. The next episode is here youtu.be/l0OakacAXh4
This is based on Bach Rittersburg in Germany and Burghill Castle in the UK and a number of others. A basic wooden castle on a hill with a palisade around it - a natural motte with a bailey on top!
The rules for my castle -
make it as accurately as possible
western European style
wall thickness, size and height accurate on averages
cranes and other lifting equipment to be built
accommodations for workers
all on Minecraft hardcore mode - which means one life and one life only.

This is Vanilla Minecraft plus Optifine. Optifine helps Minecraft run more smoothly for me. I also use JermsyBoy's Better Foliage add on because I like the leaves. There are no other mods or add-ons in the version I use.
