Jetpacks in Minecraft?! Using the Elytra’s flight mechanics and the mob collision mechanic we have created a command block system to turn your standard Elytra into your very own Jetpack!

If you intend to use this in your own creations be sure to credit Selulance and Sancarn!

► It isn’t working! ◄

There are several reasons as to why this could be happening.

1. You aren't playing in 15w41b or later - Make sure you are using this version. How can you fly without an Elytra?!
2. You're not in survival mode.
3. You didn’t place the command blocks in the spawn chunks.
4. You are playing on a server. Instead try this 1-Click-Command: pastebin.com/du5155Ct
5. Command blocks are not enabled on your server.
6. Some other bug we don’t know about - Sorry!

► How do I know where my spawn chunks are? ◄

The easy way is to kill yourself! Unless you spawn back at a bed you will spawn in your spawn chunks!

► Why didn't you make the slime invisible? ◄

I did. However, the invisibility effect only kicks in after 1 game tick. It's a longstanding bug in the game that really should be fixed. To make a truly invisible slime you need to summon it with invisibility and then in the next game tick, teleport it to the player and finally in the next game tick teleport it to the void. This is much more complicated. There might be other solutions too. I'm working on it.

► The smoke particles aren't appearing! ◄

Check your particle settings in video settings. Make sure they are set to "All". Otherwise I cannot help you I am afraid.

A bit of information about how it works:

First we kill all entities with the name “PropelSlime” in the world by teleporting them down to y=-1000. Then we summon new slimes with a size of 0 at every player with a inAir score ≥ 1, a survival game mode and a Pitch-rotation between 30 and -90. The inAir score is controlled by the statistic “stat.flyOneCm”. This increases by 1 for every hundredth of a block the player flies. This includes when he flies with an Elytra. Then we also summon cloud particles with the particle command. This forms a vapour trail. Finally we set the inAir score to 0 again, allowing us to detect whether the player will need boosting in the next tick.

The “megajump” is controlled by a similar system. We firstly give the jump boost 7 effect to all players who have a sneakTime ≥ 1 and a survival game mode for 1 second. sneakTime is controlled by the statistic “stat.sneakTime” and counts up by 1 for each game tick the player is sneaking. After applying the jump boost effect we set it back to 0 allowing us to detect it in the next game tick.
