Bring the calming energy of mindfulness meditation to other parts of your life with the first Museum/YMCA Mindfulness and Education Session of 2022.
The same experiences that have become possible through mindfulness meditation can be extended to and observed in relationships. We start with acknowledging a spectrum of relationship challenges that address our own insecurities and aspirations. By applying mindfulness principles and meditation, relationships deemed impossible are placed in a more realistic time perspective on a continuum of healing and reconciliation.
The YMCA's Slobodan Stojanovic leads the session, which was presented on January 5, 2022 and recorded on Zoom. Go here to learn more about the Aga Khan Museum/YMCA Mindfulness and Education series: agakhanmuseum.org/programs/mindfulness-and-education-sessions

“I was also really blown away by the fact that [Night in the Garden of Love] is written in a kind of musical tone. And that allowed me to think about how you took a book and made it an experience.”
Shezad Dawood, the artist behind our current special exhibition #NightInTheGardenOfLove, had known of Yusef Lateef since childhood, but it wasn’t until he was an adult that the full immersion into Lateef’s world began. In Dawood’s words, “it’s […] hard to say where Lateef ends and I begin.”
