I used the previous chords from the song "Pullin' Outta Here To Win" as I wanted to re-purpose it as I felt it was strong. When it came to the lyrics and concept I thought "What can most people relate to in the world?" Making loads of money and leaving that 9-5.
I wanted to draw from real life experiences with tongue in cheek humor, so it was about my job at Starbucks in Brighton. It was a busy store as it was in the center of the city. I just remember that feeling of ffs, seeing the queue go out the door having just started my shift and thinking "wished I called in sick." Jorja nailed the vocals, def one of my fav songs.
