Recorded with Mark Flannery. Def an exciting time for us, I remember the feeling of hope and optimism whilst recording at this time. I was also super hung over from a Starbucks work party the night before recording the guitars for it ha ha The middle 8 production had some influences from Beach Boys and Radiohead.
This song is from the perspective of Mike's mum, Julie who played a very supportive role in MiMi's journey. "Don't Stand on Ceremony" is what she used to say when we would hang out and record demos at their house. She would also say "I just spent a penny" which I thought was hilarious. Never heard it before.
