I have an EE background and this still messes with my head a bit-- a 1978 Milton Bradley Starbird toy from back in the day (mine!) has a functional battery from when it was last stored. It's a "Mallory" made Duracell 9V, so at the *latest* it's from 1988, but I wouldn't have been playing with it when I was 18, so I'm going to guess it was early 1980's -- likely in excess of 30 years old.
