Day 4 of Idaho potato harvest brings early mornings, equipment breakdowns, and a few surprises in the field. We kick things off talking about Verticillium and what we’ll do differently next year with Vapam. Then it’s straight to the cellar to get things rolling, only to run into roller mud problems and some serious conveyor juggling. Out in the field, we start digging a new piece and discover a lot more small potatoes than expected—raising the question of what to do with millions of eliminators. To top it off, a hub snaps on the roller table and later a pivot rim blows out. Even with the challenges, Grandpa makes his daily check-in, and we keep the harvest rolling.
