After preparation, an attacking army launches at the enemy, but sooner or later the attacker loses momentum and a crisis point is reached, sometimes called the "height of the battle". The attacker is then ripe for a counterattack blow from the defender. This video shows what happens to an attacking force when fatigue, lack of supplies and dispersal affect the attacker's momentum.
