ok yall this is hands down the prettiest song on their album. the first thing i thought was how magical it would sound in an open air stadium (( especially the bridge + nananana part )) so this is the atmosphere i came up w uwu : ((
also, what makes this song stand out to me besides the flowy, soft melody is the "i got you" part in the lyrics. it has to be one of the most comforting and subtly intimate phrases imo and it's a huge reason why i always come back to this song. i tell it to a lot to ppl i care abt irl and hear it back even in the most mundane situations—whether it's lending money or a pen, or doing somebody a small favour that cannot be physically returned. overall, it's a phrase that holds a lot of weight and significance for a lot of ppl i think. when you tell someone you got them, it seals an imaginary letter of trust and reliance that can only be read between you two, and i find that to be so beautiful.
i live in canada so they won't be coming here for their speak yourself tour : ( but i hope at their next concert (( if they come here )) or even in another lifetime, i'll get to sing "i got you" with them
