The use of cars and batteries changes. Today batteries don’t just start the car, but support 50 car electrics of which the start-stop system. OEMs build in EFBs more and more up to 50% of the batteries in their factories in 2020. The regular lead acid battery will disappear. We need to change the way we diagnose and maintain these batteries. Even if the battery is diagnosed to be able to start the car, we need to know whether it can support all electrics as well. That is what we address with our conductance profiling, measuring the reserve capacity.
