I attended the recent Star TUGS event at the Midland Railway Centre, on both 9th and 10th March, at Swanwick Junction station.
What a weekend. It was great not only to see the models again after two years, but also the S.S.Vienna and the LT building, as well as meeting several people in the fandom such as Daniel Coffey, Ross Patterson, Melshiri, Daniel Long, Gavin Rose, and the brilliant Michael White. I also had a look around Swanwick, in particular the West Shed and the model display.
I really enjoyed the sense of friendship and banter between everyone on the weekend. We were all talking in the model display at Butterly on the Saturday, and I think that's when it struck me that these Star TUGS events were not just events to display models from a program, but a chance for all of us in the fandom to come together and interact with each other.
I'd love to thank everyone involved with the Star TUGS Trust, and my friend Jamie Parker who I'd spent the weekend with. In spite of one distressing incident, it was a weekend I would happily do all over again, and I'd really love to be present at the August event.
