The Microsoft Surface Duo is the company's attempt at a foldable. It is a first generation product and there is no doubt that the phone needs refinement. Compare that to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 and you're looking at a much better hardware and software package from Samsung. But the Surface Duo offers something new, which we think is more valuable. While it falls short, you get to experience the dual-screen concept a bit differently. And ultimately, we think that while different hardware adaptations are going to come and go, it is software implementation which will define which of these form factors sticks around for the long haul.
