Prosecutors delivered opening statements in Mario Fernandez-Saldana’s murder trial, accusing him of funding the murder-for-hire plot that killed Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan in 2022, amid a bitter custody battle involving Bridegan and his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner. Prosecutors described Bridegan’s killing as a planned, “tactical ambush,” alleging a tire was deliberately left in the road to force Bridegan to stop before he was fatally shot in front of his young daughter. Fernandez-Saldana and Gardner allegedly paid Henry Tenon, a tenant at a property they owned, to kill Bridegan.
