CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Microplastics are a concern in Charleston's waterways, posing risks to both aquatic life and humans, according to the Charleston Waterkeeper. Britney Prebis, the Community Science Manager at Charleston Waterkeeper, highlighted the dangers, saying, "Microplastics in our waterways present a multitude of risks not only to the animals and organisms that live in the waterways but also to us as humans."
