Test your microphone in about two minutes with this guided nBeats mic check. It walks you through the five things a recording engineer checks signal, level, noise, plosives, and a speak-test - so you know your mic sounds right before a call, stream, podcast, or recording.
Because a video can't record for you, this is a GUIDE: on-screen prompts tell you when to speak, and I play reference examples so you can recognise the four things that ruin a mic too quiet, clipping/distortion, background noise, and plosive pops. A live input-level meter shows you what a healthy level looks like. Record yourself, play it back, and compare.

How to use it:-
1. Put on headphones and start at a low volume the reference tones and the clipping demo can be loud.
2. Open your recorder or the mic settings you want to test (call app, DAW, OBS, phone voice memo).
3. On "Signal", speak and watch your own level meter move if nothing moves, check the input/device.
4. Compare your level to the "Good level" reference: aim for the green zone, peaks well below the top.
5. Listen to the reference examples of too-quiet, clipping, noise and pops so you can spot them in your recording.
6. On "Speak test", record the prompts, then play it back on "Play it back" and check for those four problems.
What it checks:-

- Background noise: hiss, hum, and room noise under your voice.
- Plosives & sibilance: popping P/B sounds and harsh S.
- A quick record-and-playback so you hear yourself the way others will.
