If you are interested in science and math, a world of career opportunities awaits you. In this NERC careers clip, we meet Dr Martha Clockie, a microbiologist at the University of Leicester.

Her research is focused on understanding how viruses infect and control bacteria, which can be used to explore novel ways to treat human diseases. With antibiotics becoming less effective, it's more important than ever to study the natural enemies of bacteria, which are viruses. By isolating these viruses, we can use them or products derived from them to combat bacterial infections.

Join us in this video to learn more about the fascinating world of microbiology and how it can help save lives.
