This unofficial Mickey Mouse short was created in the late 1940s by a disgruntled ex-animator for Walt Disney Productions. It was made in response to Walt Disney's decision to fire him and multiple other animators out of fears of them being Communists, a decision that was legally enforced by the infamous Hollywood Blacklist. This animator, whose name is currently unknown at this time, illegally snuck in this reel at a local movie theater and brought fear to everyone who saw it. Some religious families who took their children to the theater were afraid that they might have been cursed.
