It’s been a very long time since I last posted 10 years ago, so it’s time for something special.
As you know, 2024 is finally here, and Mickey Mouse’s very first cartoon “Steamboat Willie” has finally entered the Public Domain after 95 years since Disney was under copyright. But now, Disney has lost the rights to this cartoon as of today.
This cartoon was included on a VHS release called “The Spirit Of Mickey” where “Steamboat Willie” was the final selection of this direct-to-video anthology film.
As we honor Mickey Mouse (version 1.0) as he joins in the Public Domain right now, here is the full cartoon. Enjoy!
