This event took place at the British Library on Saturday 08 July 2023

One of Britain’s best-loved children’s book writers talks to TV presenter Naomi Wilkinson about how animals and nature inspire his writing.

The natural world is central to so many of Michael Morpurgo’s books and no-one writes better animal stories. He is the bestselling author of more than 150 books including The Butterfly Lion, Kensuke's Kingdom, Running Wild and War Horse, which was made into an award-winning play and a Golden Globe-nominated film.

Suited to anyone age 6+ and anyone who loves listening to stories.

This event accompanied the British Library’s exhibition 'Animals: Art, Science and Sound'.
