The award winning album 'A Month of Unrequited Love' was part of a project taking place during the month of May, 2011. At amonthofunrequitedlove.com a new song was to be streamed/downloaded on each day in May, and the first Danish album to be solely crowdfunded.
The album is the second solo album by acciamed Danish singer/songwriter Michael Møller Michael who has released four albums with the award-winning band moi Caprice, which has gained a large audience through the years. Møller released his first solo album in 2007; Every Streetcar's Got a Name -- An album about sex and desire. The concept album received much praise, not least due to its (highly explicit) lyrics. The album was elected album of the year by several blogs and newspapers in Denmark.
In May 2011 Møller launched his ambitious internet release A Month of Unrequited Love. Every day of the month a new song was released for free download at a specially designed webpage. At it's completion the song cycle included 31 songs with a duration of nearly two and a half hours, which also features the vocals of Christian Hjelm (Figurines), Jannis Makrigiannis (Choir of Young Believers) and Jakob Bellens (I Got You On Tape).
The unique story attracted attention and helped Michael Møller in his crowd funding campaign. A Month of Unrequited Love was released as a double CD and triple vinyl a few months later due to the financial backing of numerous fans. It was the first crowd funded release in Danish music history.
That year Michael Møller finished a successful year with several awards. He was voted 'Innovator of the Year' at the Danish Music Awards and received the Music Critics Award as 'Songwriter of the Year'. A Month of Unrequited Love was also included in every list of albums of the year in the Danish media.
In the summer of 2013 Michael Møller took on a new project along with fellow songwriters Frederik og Fridolin Nordsø (The William Blakes), called The Mountains, which already have received a lot of airplay. An album is expected later this fall.
