With his own private helicopter, Michael picks up Mickey & Minnie Mouse from Euro Disney, Paris and takes them to the “Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children” in Haggerston Park, London. All three are greeted by around 2000 fans and an entourage of hospital staff and record executives. Michael enters the hospital and spends some time giving out toys to sick children & talking with staff & patients. Also in London, Eric Herminie, a young man with mental health issues threatens to jump off the roof opposite the Dorchester Hotel, where Michael is staying. Michael intervenes and speak to the man on the phone and Mr Herminie agrees to retreat. When interviewed, the man told journalists: “He was fabulous on the phone. I talked for quite a while with him. He sounded a very warm person. He told me not to do it again - to stay together. Of course, I am going to. He basically saved my life. If he hadn’t come out, I obviously would have jumped.”
