"Behind the Mask" is a previously unreleased cover of Yellow Magic Orchestra's song of the same name, performed by Michael Jackson and released on the Michael album. It was released as a single on February 21, 2011, serving as the third single from the album. It's demo was released on Thriller 40 in 2022, and is officially dubbed "Mike's Mix (Demo)", which was recorded on October 1981. I ended up using the original leaked instrumental version that was dumped onto the internet in 2013 and used basic EQ fixes to make the sound more vibrant. I hope you enjoy! :)

Michael first began working on the song back in 1998 with Brad Buxer and Michael Prince. The songs first title was Hanson, as the song was meant for the band of the same name. Nothing came of it. The song was later reworked between 1999 and 2000 for the Invincible album, although it didnt make the cut. It was however released in 2004 in The Ultimate Collection box set, alongside few other outtakes.

What better way to start a new year than a fully remastered and enhanced version of the Master Tape of Thriller! This is rumored to be one of the best mixes of the album out there and I decided to clean it up with EQ, balancing the L and R channels, and finally slowing it to the original speed that it was recorded in. Overall a really solid enhancement, comment if youd like the entire album enhanced. Happy New Year !
