“A beautiful surrender into a wild pregnancy and free birth. I wanted complete freedom to listen to my body as it grew and delivered us our first little girl. And that’s exactly what took place. My husband was my rock as we both embraced those contractions. Active labor started from around 6am and we delivered at 11:41am. Our birth photographer quietly radiating peace throughout the entire process. During transition, I was quickly brought back to our 1st delivery, when I was so close to delivery but let down greatly by our midwife. For a moment fear set in.. “would the story repeat itself? Would I be able to finish the race?” Our birth photographer suggested I do something I never would’ve thought of myself. I cleaned my finger and gently reached into my vagina and could feel the amniotic bag! Untorn and so so present. A soft silky feeling sac. That moment filled me with enough courage and faith to move past the trauma that was trying to invade my mind body connection. Peace settled in again. It grounded me. Shortly after our beautiful daughter was born on our bathroom floor.”
