#Firmware update tutorial for #Seat and Cupra vehicles with Navi Plus #MIB2 systems. Check your current version, download update package, prepare SD card, trigger the firmware update procedure, wait for the installation to complete and the infotainment system to reboot, and confirm that the newest and latest firmware is not in your car.
π Vehicle in this video is Cupra Ateca which started with SW Train MHI2_EU_SEG11_P4705. After the firmware update, infotainment unit is running the latest versions which is MHI2_EU_SEG11_P4709. There's no new features. Update contains bug fixes and support for newer optional equipment. The same update file and procedure applies to other Seat vehicles with Seat Navi Plus (MIB2 High) system: Ateca, Ibiza, Leon, Tarraco.
β οΈ Make sure your cars battery is in good shape, use external power source, or turn the engine on for the update process to make sure that voltage drops will not interrupt firmware update.
β οΈ Make sure that your touch display is working correctly. At the end of the update procedure it is required to press the BACK button in upper-right corner. There's no way to skip it without working touch surface.
β οΈ Warning! You are doing it at your own risk! This procedure can overwrite your custom modifications, if you had some in your system already (CP-OFF patch, SWaP patch, custom skins, Toolbox, Personal POI). Also developer mode (green engineering menu) will be disabled and will require reenabling.

Navigate to MQB_Solution directory and select your type of unit, brand, region, and firmware version that you want to install.
π Procedure
1. Enter hidden menu and check your current SW train.
2. Find and download latest supported firmware update for your unit.
3. Use 16GB or larger SD card, format it with FAT32 file system with the smallest allocation size available.
4. Extract and move firmware update files to the root directory of the SD card. metainfo2.txt file needs to be directly in the top directory of SD card.
5. Remove SD cards from the main unit and insert update SD into SD1 port.
6. Press and hold MENU button for 3 seconds, select "Software update/versions", "Update", "SD card", select firmware, press "Start" and "Next".
7. Wait patiently. Main unit will reboot about 3 times before the new firmware is installed.
8. When the installation is complete you can press the arrow in the upper-right corner, "Cancel". Unit will reboot one final time.
9. Press and hold MENU button to confirm that the unit is running new firmware version now.
10. Use scan tool like OBDeleven or VCDS to clear the B201A fault code according to this tutorial: youtu.be/0tpPm-ucAwc
βΉοΈ Every performed update procedure will cause an SVM fault code to be stored in 5F module. This fault does not effect the system. It's just an indication that update was performed. You can clear the code with OBDeleven or VCDS after entering confirmation code.
