Break from TA, it's time for more meme run. Now, we're using first gen combo great sword, no charging, no tackle, no slap, just plain old combo. Although it seems easy on World, it's actually hard back then with slower attack movement.
In Rathalos case, his grounded time after dunk is like zero, so you need to spam flash bombs and pitfall traps to keep Rathalos in check. There're two combo that you can use to actually lock Rathalos head, overhead slash + rising slash. Too bad that both movements are pretty slow so Rathalos often able to escape from it. That's why I usually compensate it with wide slash + rising slash to deal damage faster.
Sub 2 is possible if I uitilize traps.
