So basically jin dahaad works like this, when he's not at rimechain peak you can't create his investigation quests, as such you need to find him and drive him out of iceshard cliffs, once he retreats to rimechain you can then set up your investigation in the monster list on the map. until then jin dahaad can be randomly encountered on the cliffs as a stage hazard and can be damaged, how much damage you deal seems to carry over to rimechain, so effectively jin dahaad is a two-stage encounter -- Watch live at twitch.tv/doktor_amazing
