If you press Circle on the second controller, The Fury will take damage. This seems to be a left over thing from when the devs were testing the US version, because it's not present in NTSC-J or PAL. Pressing X does damage to his stamina instead, so you can keep your Foxhound rank and get his camo if you want.

It also doesn't work on Subsistence or for any other bosses.
