Based on the MG Metro road car, the MG Metro 6R4 made its competitive debut in 1985.
The 6R4 was developed by Williams Grand Prix Engineering, with its naturally-aspirated, rear-mounted engine making it a unique competitor.
Plagued by reliability issues during the Group B era, the car rarely showed its true potential, but remains a fan favourite to this day.
Following the end of Group B rally, the MG Metro 6R4 became a highly sought-after rallycross car, and quickly became a staple of British Rallyross.
In the late 1990s and mid 2000s Colin McRae showed what the MG Metro 6R4 was truly capable of, when he started hosting his own rallies in Scotland.
On multiple occasions Colin took the MG Metro 6R4 to Rallies as a course car, and his flat-out approach to driving provided many spectacular performances.
