We're taking our second annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration online—join us as we recognize and honor the heritage of all Indigenous peoples and the histories of their nations and communities.
The free event features:
– Layla Bermeo, Kristin and Roger Servison Curator of Paintings, Art of the Americas, on responses to Cyrus E. Dallin’s "Appeal to the Great Spirit" (1909)
— A Spotlight Talk on Arroh-ah-och’s olla (water jar) (1870–80) from Tess Lukey (Aquinna Wampanoag), Curatorial Research Associate, Art of the Americas

— A Spotlight Talk on Wendy Red Star’s Apsáalooke Feminist #1 (2016) from Marina Tyquiengco (CHamoru), Curatorial Assistant, Contemporary Art
Founded in 1870, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, stands on the historic homelands of the Massachusett people, a site that has long served as a place of meeting and exchange among different nations. As a Museum, we acknowledge the long history of the land we occupy today and seek ways to make Indigenous narratives more prominent in our galleries and programming.
