The Mexican regularization program {amnesty program) was a game changer for some of us who took advantage of its benefits while it was available. It was a way to get residency in Mexico with proving solvency. But they never told us the RNE program would last forever. As a matter of fact, we were encouraged to get it, while the getting was good. And now it seems to have come to a close. I recently received a notification from my attorney informing us that the regularization program (amnesty program) has practically culminated. Individuals wanting residency in Mexico will now have to apply through the consulate abroad.
