Meta's defence team, led by attorney Paul W. Schmidt, arrives at a federal court in Oakland, California, as the landmark trial over teen social media addiction ends in a $16.7 billion settlement with US states. In addition to agreeing to pay states, Meta has agreed to impose sweeping new limits on how teenagers use Facebook and Instagram, according to a court filing on Wednesday.
