Its October, so to go with this months haunted theme were pulling a song back from the grave, and this time its our 2017 arrangement of Stone Tower Temple that was erased from streaming services during the Materia Collective purge of 2021. Unlike Aurons Theme, this remix isnt just a remix, a few of the tracks were completely re-recorded because I realized we really had no clue what we were doing 5 years ago and I knew the quality could be improved. This cover was heavily inspired by Chuck Schuldiner and more specifically the album The Sound of Perseverance, so hopefully you can hear that influence shine through on all of the harmonies and light-speed drumming. For this version we also extended the solo section and brought in resident extreme metal and VGM enthusiast, Viking Guitar. Weve known of each other for a few years now and actually finally got to meet in person at a convention last weekend so it was great to finally work on something together. Entering a world of very literal caveman riffs, this week Im bringing you a cover of Bo Burn- excuse me, a cover of Burn! Bobonga! from Chrono Trigger with the help of my friend Colin Im not f***ing Irish Scott of CSGuitars notoriety. Colin is a dinosaur connoisseur, so I knew he should be the one to join me on this prehistoric journey. If you want to learn the finer details of how a guitar amp works or just want to see more of his custom fossil flying v, I highly recommend you checking out his channel from the link above. Added thanks to Colin for hooking me up with the ember and flame effects to really nail down the vibe I was going for. The rhythm guitar tracks in this video were once again re-amped by Nathaniel Garza of Nate G. Audio who also did the re-amping and mixing for last months Harvest Moon cover. Earlier this year I had a really bad idea and Pat was like Okay. So today we present to you our cover of Fell in Love With a Girl by The White Stripes where we tuned the guitar down an entire octave to drop E to see if we could find the resonant frequency that would make god cry.
