This is such a fun little pen! I LOVE the Matte Orange colorway (it was a hard choice between this and the Olive) — it’s rich and warm, with a subtle texture that gives it a slightly vintage look despite the modern design.
Although the section looks chunky, I found it comfy during short writing sessions. I did initially play around with gripping it in different ways, and can see that the girth or facets may not work for every grip setup or perhaps smaller hands. Overall I enjoyed the unique finish and design and appreciate the creative engineering.
I had fun mixing some Private Reserve premium ink to make a custom autumnal orange to match this fun pen. I ended up mixing Buttercup (a yellow) with Plum (a magenta) to create a deep rusty orange that complements the pen beautifully - it even has some nice shading!
I was also impressed by the #5 nib. When I first opened it, I giggled a little — it looked so teeny compared to all the #6 nibs I’ve been using lately 🤗. But it’s smooth, consistent, and an absolute pleasure to write with 👏. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the VERY satisfying magnetic posting and closure - it just pulls itself closed like magic - so g00d!
