I don't think there's a lot I can say about this mission, there are two good ways you can take: the one I took, or the tube at the first torpedo barrier, which leads you to a factory that gives you a Rebel Mech, which is considered a Slug at the end. I consider the area I took to be easier as it's shorter, and the Ostrich Slug helps you a lot.

While this route is the easiest for me, I still had some difficulty, mostly during the tank part, thanks to those Rebel Soldiers always throwing those pesky grenades, but besides that, it's really easy thanks to the Slug.
