The Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier actually has a pretty diverse variety of tones.

In this video I demonstrate how the gain affects the modern switch setting for high gain tones, from quick and tight, to thick and chunky.

For the raw and vintage tones, I have the presence all the way up, which gets some nice chimey sounds at lower gain and acts as somewhat of a subtle gain increase to my ear. At higher gain, it can start to become a little harsh, but is still usable, and would work well especially with some subtractive EQ in a mix for a nice, tight, bright sound.

The clean channel goes from thick and pristine, all the way to mega-thick and crunchy with a higher gain and the pushed mode enabled.
