There are SO MANY portable power stations on the market and each company is trying to separate itself from other companies. Merrac went at this by using high-quality LG batteries but putting less of them inside the power station, lowering the Watt Hour of the units. That, along with a different inverter makes them smaller and lighter than many others on the market. So, you get fewer battery cells, for the same money, but it is smaller and lighter.
Our tests went well. The 2,000-watt output model gave great voltage for the USA with it holding right around 118 volts under load. Oddly, it would increase the voltage when it was not plugged into grid power. The smaller version would hold 113 volts when in use.
These look like nice units and give you a lot of options that few would use. They are Lithium Ion stations, so battery life will be significantly less than a Lithium Iron Phosphate unit.
