The European Commission's proposal to impose definitive tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles has received the necessary support from member states, the body said in a statement on Friday. Mercedes-Benz Group CEO Ola Kallenius stated at the Berlin Global Dialogue on Wednesday that direct tariffs are a very crude instrument, and he believes there are better solutions. He also noted that Mercedes-Benz, with a substantial business serving both China and European markets, depends on having as much access to markets as possible.
