It’s been almost 10 years since the Just Dance 2017 demo was released, and I’ve never seen a video that show the interface it uses, so I decided to share it with yall today after spending a few days setting it up on Just Dance 2017 for PC.

I should point out that *this is a direct port of the Nintendo Wii U version* to the PC game engine of the final release, and I’ve made almost no changes—just enough to make it playable. So *it’s normal to encounter inconsistencies, inaccessible menus (like Just Dance Unlimited), or bugs!*


*Important notes and information for each feature and game mode:*

- Just Dance [Party mode]: The interface for Just Dance 2017 is still in beta; only the main banner has changed compared to the leaderboard and credits banner, which still use the Just Dance 2016 interface.

- Just Dance Machine: While porting the interface, I was able to test the gameplay using beta files, and the HUD was slightly different, as were the colors of the feedback and the icons. However, it was only after porting the entire game mode that it became inaccessible, which is why I’ll need to make a separate video showing the various stages of this game mode.

- Video Challenge: This is the start of the overhaul, but unfortunately it’s inaccessible. I haven’t checked yet to see if there are any other hidden menus I could access; if so, that would be covered in a future video.

- World Dance Floor: It’s obviously not finished yet, and Ubisoft has been experimenting with background videos. You can’t see it in the showcase, but while I was testing the interface, there were videos created for the World Dance Floor featuring an audience and fireworks—one for the intro and one for the outro. The fireworks, for example, are in the outro video. Furthermore, the layout is nothing like what we see today; there are quite a few beta textures that aren’t visible yet, which would be worth checking out alongside the concepts for Just Dance 2016.

- All other game modes retain the Just Dance 2016 interface.

- The game levels are different, with different colors as well, and go up to a maximum of 99, not 100!

- As for the profiles, I think I messed up a bit and that’s causing it to freeze, but I don’t think there’s much to look at—the avatars are all from 2016 except for six from 2017, and there are only about ten skins.

- Also, the ability to play on a PC without a phone wasn't planned yet either!


So it's very likely that the demo is based on a very, very early build, but the core mechanics and art direction of Just Dance 2017 are already clearly established; only a few adjustments are visible in the final version in that regard.
