Sometimes when I finish a remix, I don't have a clue what to do for the pixel art. In this case, I originally wanted to do a remake of Air Ride's menu screen, but I was having trouble making it look good, so I scrapped it completely. I decided instead to use a level scene and add menu elements onto it in the foreground, and it worked surprisingly so much better.
As for the music, it's such a dense song that it's really hard to capture the full extent of the chords without getting too messy. I chose to simplify it a bit, but preserve the overall energy and really give the bass some love from all 3 channels.
One last thing - I tried making a remix of this years ago, but gave up after trying to use arpeggios to make the chords work. I think nowadays, I'm more confident with focusing on the essentials and not worrying so much about replicating every last detail from the original.
