Thirty-five years after the murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez, attorney Mark Geragos and family members of Lyle and Erik Menendez made a plea in L.A. on Wednesday for their resentencing and release. The new push for freedom was led by their aunt Joan VanderMolen, Kitty’s sister, who spoke out in the same Netflix documentary where the brothers broke their silence. After the press conference, the family went across the street to plead their case to L.A. District Attorney George Gascon, who is considering resentencing for the brothers, who are serving life without the possibility of parole.
