I wrote this song while having an incredibly shitty month at work. I was up for review and I really wanted a raise, but more importantly I was feeling like I would never advance in my career if I was deemed as needing improvement. It sounds silly, but when you only hear the negatives, you start to question your worth. Multiply that over a series of months, and you begin to worry for your livelihood.
At my old job, I drove around a lot of beautiful places without being able to actually experience them. Mendocino Forest is one such area. The regret and frustration at that job piled up until I started looking for new work. The fact that neither job is going well really hit me hard. So, I turned to music for therapy.
I hope someone else can find solace and comfort in this song. It doesn't heal or cure anything, but it helps in a certain way.
