Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) at age 22 composed his Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, while touring Europe, where it premiered in Munich in 1831. He also wrote his "Italian" Symphony No. 4 during this period.

This live performance from Boston's Symphony hall is under the baton of Arthur Fiedler. The guest pianist is Susan Starr, whose early public appearances were with the Philadelphia Orchestra, at ages six and fifteen. She was a Silver Medalist at the 1962 Tchaikovsky Competition, and has performed with many conductors, and has toured widely.

1st Movement: Molto allegro con fuoco (00:02)
2nd Movement: Andante (07:28)
3rd Movement: Presto (12:59)

Straight from the 1965 vinyl. For entertainment purposes only. I own nothing here.
