Communication is the life-blood of any healthy relationship.
That being said, men...if you want to communicate better with the woman in you life, here are a few practical things you can do to keep from becoming road-kill!🙂
Stop: Put your phone down. Turn off technology and tune in to your wife. Be present in her presence. Actively sit, stand, and be still as she is talking with you so that she knows she—and what’s she saying—is more important than everything else in the world at that moment.
Look: Look at her. It’s rude to not look at someone when they are talking to you, so don’t be rude. Show her you respect and value her by giving her your full attention and keeping your face...and heart...towards her.
Listen: Listening to someone is a gift. Actively listen to your spouse. Be obsessed with understanding what she is trying to communicate with you. Seek to understand her before you are understood.
Do these three things and you will have better communication with your wife and avoid becoming relational “road-kill”!
